It’s been a busy Term 2!
Wishing all our pupils and their families a very Happy Easter!
As part of Religion and Visual Art the children in the senior room created beautiful Easter Tombs from clay to remember the resurrection of Jesus.
As part of Seachtain na Gaeilge the Children celebrated Lá Glas. Each child researched a topic of Irish culture and heritage they were interested in as well as a creative response of their choice. They then presented their projects to the school. We were blown away by the children’s interest and creativity. Projects included animals and plants of Ireland, Irish monuments, myths and legends, famous Irish people and aspects of Irish History. For their creative responses the children played music, created artwork, dioramas and Lego scenes, read as Gaeilge, brought in homemade soda bread and brown bread for the children to sample and more.
The children from 3rd to 6th class competed in the Sportshall Athletics competition for the first time in Corofin. They competed in a number of track and field events including relay races, obstacle courses, javelin, long and high jump, speed bounce and more. Fanore was paired with two other schools and the boys 3rd/4th team and boys 5th/6th team won their respective categories!
We participated in this years parade, our theme was The Pirates of Fanore.
What a great day out!
