As part of our continued involvement in the Creative Schools Programme, today we had the first of a series of 3 workshops with Katerina Gribkoff. Katerina is a PhD student at the Burren College of Art and will be working with the children to create their own plant based dyes which will then be used to create paintings based on the Burren landscape and plants.
Last week and this week, children in the senior room took part in the Word Mania challenge, competing against children from all over the world to create as many words as possible from 15 letters in only three minutes. Well done to our winners, Lily, Simeon, Nate and Ryan and also a big congratulations to our 6th class who have reached the world finals of Word Mania. Best of luck to all the boys and girls.
The sun shone brightly on us as we carried out our beach clean up today. The most recent spring tide had washed up a lot of plastic and rope fragments so there was plenty to be done. The children are very aware of how lucky they are to have the beach on their doorstep and of the importance of everyone doing their part to protect it and keep it clean
We wish all the wonderful mammies in our school community a very happy Mother’s Day today. We hope that you are all treated like the queens that you are 💕

Today is World Maths day, and to celebrate, the children have been competing in maths activities with other children all over the world
We welcomed Stephen into the school today as part of our Creative Schools Programme to show us some of his tricks and even to teach us a few. Great fun was had by children….and teachers alike!

Very well done to the children for coming out on a very cold March day to take part in the parade. Our theme was ‘The Magic of the Sea’ which was based on the film produced by the school last year. The children dressed up and sang and played for the spectators. Well done to everyone on a wonderful parade as always
