The Junior room headed off on their school tour on Thursday. We visited the Ennis Gymnastics Centre, the playground and McDonalds. A wonderful day was had by all.
The senior room boys were in action in hurling (Fanore/Boston/Tubber) and football (Fanore/ New Quay/Carron) in recent weeks. They came up against some very strong teams in both sports and while they played very well, they unfortunately did not progress in their competitions.
Well done to all our pupils who participated again this year in the Burren Marathon. A special congratulations to our Under 16 winner
Fantastic achievement!
Football is ongoing with Cian O’Dea.
Children are learning a range of skills.
Congratulations to our pupils who received the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Since the arrival of the Cuckoo, we have been very busy finding out lots of information on this fabulous bird!
We are blessed to hear it every day while outside on yard!
The children had their third workshop with Marina today. In this workshop, they focused on the Hawthorn tree and the folklore surrounding it. The senior room planted their own Hawthorn tree and the junior room got to sample some Hawthorn blossom tea which is renowned for its health benefits. The children rounded off the workshop with some beautiful art using some of the leaves and plants growing around the school
After a break of a few years we are back bending and stretching with Magda. As well as the obvious health benefits, gymnastics helps children build a range of motor and coordination skills, and assists in developing a good sense of body awareness.
Brian from Burren Beo visited the senior room this week for a workshop looking at the many varied flora of the Burren
Some senior room collaborative art for Earth day which was based on this years theme “Invest in Our Planet”
