The children in the junior room experimented with pastels today!
Children in the senior room have been exploring the power of positive messages and being kind to yourself in your thoughts and words. They brainstormed kind words to describe themselves and decorated them during a maths lesson on Lines and Angles. Can you see a pattern on the colours for the different lines and angles? They also explored and discussed famous quotes about never giving up and trying your best. Children then created their own positive posters to display in the classroom.
We were delighted to welcome Garda John Costello into the school today. He spoke to the children about personal safety, road safety and Halloween.
Ghlac rang 3-6 páirt i dTráth na gCeist ar líne a chraoladh beo don seomra ranga. Ag an gcéim seo den tionscadal, ní dhírítear ar na scóir ná ar scoileanna a leanúint tríd an Ionad Tacaíochta Oideachais, ach ar fhorbairt na Gaeilge mar theanga bheo bhríomhar.
As part of Space Week the children examined the size of planets using fruit. They also investigated the size of the planets relative to Earth. Lots of predicting, discussing and active learning. Jupiter was very tasty after all their hard work!
The senior room had a fantastic workshop with Karen from Burren Beo as part of the ‘Calf and the Cuckoo’ program on Place, Geology, Archaeology, and People.
They looked at the history and geography of The Burren, participated in many different group activities, conducted some investigations and (tasty) excavations!
Karen will be back next year for the second workshop and we look forward to learning more from her in the new year.
Hurling continues every Friday with Mark from the Tubber Tigers.
The senior room have been learning all about the Stone Age and presented fantastic projects on the topic. Such great subject knowledge and creativity shown in their projects.
Bhí ceardlann álainn ag na páistí ó rang 3-6 bunaithe ar ár dtéama Gaeilge ‘Sa Bhaile’
