Final preparations are underway for our Christmas Concert. Children have been preparing songs, poems and tunes to share with the community. You will also hear the nativity story as you have never heard it before – the senior room have written diary entries which narrate the story through the eyes of the characters themselves. A night not to be missed!
Our handcrafted Nativity Frames are now for sale. Children handpicked the stones and decorated them to depict the Nativity Scene. Many thanks to Paula and Anu for helping us to assemble them into frames. They will be available at local Christmas Markets also so keep an eye out!
We opened the first door of our calendar today.
What a treat it was!!
What will the next door be??
Many thanks to Múinteoir Mary for organising a lovely afternoon in New Quay school for the presentation of medals to the boys team for coming second in the league football. Mr. Keane was there to present the medals and our captain gave an excellent speech. It was a lovely way to end the football season.
We were delighted to have Anne from the DSPCA come online to talk to us on Tuesday.
She spoke about animal safety and what we can do to help all animals.
Today, we were delighted to have Denis from FAI come to the school to coach the children.
What an excellent session!
Our boys team (with Carron and New Quay Schools) did us proud today playing in Cusack Park in the County Final against Liscannor. Unfortunately today was not their day, but what an achievement it was to get to the final. They will be back again! A special thanks to team manager Múinteoir Mary and Ollie for all their help and to team captain, Tadhg.
Well done to our pupils Tadhg, Suzie, Dylan, Pia and Clodagh on reaching the Cross Country Running finals in Lees Road on Nov 14th.
A special Congratulations to our girls whose team came 3rd place in the overall competition.
A fantastic achievement!!
We are taking part in a variety of Meet the Scientist Webinars.
Today we met a Zoologist.
What a fascinating job exploring the deep oceans of the world.
They are finally up! Children in the senior room finished their unit of learning on hot air balloons by designing papier-mâché hot air balloons which now take pride of place in our classroom. The children also looked at the physics of hot air balloons in SESE, studied poetry on the topic and even wrote their own acrostic poems.
