Children from 3rd to 6th class took part in the mini 7s football blitz in Inagh. The Boys came 2nd and the girls played very well against some very strong teams.
Many thanks to Ollie and Kieran for coaching the children and our Manager Sean for the blitz.
Nothing like lots of hands-on learning to explore the properties of 3D shapes in the senior room! Children made 3D shapes out of spaghetti and marshmallows, magnets, worked on some problem solving challenges using cubes and completed IPad work in groups. A few marshmallows were saved for a treat after all their hard work!
Children in the senior room were lucky to have been chosen to take part in the Heritage Keepers programme this term. Each week the children have been exploring the built, natural, and cultural heritage of Fanore though a mixture of zoom workshops and class activities. The children have really been enjoying learning more about their local area.
School reopens on Monday 19th February

Pancake Tuesday is always a great day at school!
Well done to our pupils who participated in this years Credit Union Quiz.
We were delighted with the results.
Our senior team came 2nd and our junior team came 5th.
The senior room have been exploring the topic World War 1 in SESE, English, Visual Art, Drama and Music. The children also researched a topic of WW1 that interested them to present to the school as well as a producing a creative response. A creative response could be anything the children liked as long as they were using their creative talents to create it. The standard of work the children produced was amazing. Research topics included The Role of Women in WW1, The Lusitania, Trench Life, WW1 Timeline and more. Creative responses included drawings, paintings, playing music, dioramas, 3D printing, Lego scenes and propaganda posters.
Take a look at some of the children’s work below.
