The children in the senior room have being studying the novel ‘War Horse’ over the past number of weeks. Here is a selection of some of the visualisations they created based on the novel.
Children in the senior room celebrated Pi Day by learning all about Pi and the circle in maths and playing games using the first 10-20 numbers in Pi.
4th to 6th class children took part in the FAI School Primary 5s Blitz in Lisdoonvarna for the first time. The Girls team drew their second game. The Boys team won their group and progressed to the semi finals where they narrowly missed out on a place in the next stage of the competition. Many thanks to David for coming to train the children in advance of the blitz and coaching the teams on the day.
Today we had Ruth visit us from Dog Trust Ireland.

The children were delighted with the visit and even got to pet her “dog”.
To celebrate World Book Day 2024, children and staff dressed up as characters from their favourite stories.
Each child gave a synopsis of their book.

As part of Engineer’s Week the children in the senior room were tasked with the challenge of designing a paper airplane. Children worked in groups to design and remodel their ideas before having a class competition to see which airplane flew the furthest and which stayed the longest in the air. Future aeronautical engineers in the making!
Children in the senior room have been busy creating some lovely cards for Mother’s Day using their sewing and embroidery skills.
Football lessons commence Thursday 11th April for all children.
