Lá iontach a bhí againn inniu ag ceiliúradh ‘Lá Glas’ ar scoil. Ar dtús, bhí ceolchoirm againn agus gach rud as Gaeilge – chan na páistí amhráin, dúirt siad rainn agus dánta, labhair siad fúthu féin, rinne siad rap a chum siad féin agus sheinn siad ceol traidisiúnta. Ina dhiaidh, chuaigh pobal na scoile amach go dtí an clós ag foghlaim ‘Ionsaí Na hInse’ le chéile trí mheán na Gaeilge agus chríochnaíomar an lá le cupán tae agus roinnt earraí bácála baile. Ceiliúradh iontach ar chultúr agus oidhreacht na hÉireann!
What a wonderful day we had today celebrating our ‘Lá Glas’ at school. First the children put on a concert with all items in Irish- the children sang songs, said rhymes and poems, spoke about themselves, performed a rap composed by themselves and played traditional music. The school community then went out to learn how to dance the ‘Siege of Ennis’ together through Irish and we finished the day with a cup of tea and some homebaked goods by the students and parents. A wonderful display of Irish culture and heritage here at Fanore!
Is seachtain thábhachtach í Seachtain na Gaeilge anseo i Scoil bhFanóir. Bhí na páistí ag glacadh páirte i roinnt gníomhaíochtaí chun an Ghaeilge a cheiliúradh – ina measc – cluichí ar nós biongó, cluichí focail, Deir O’Gradaigh agus Nathracha agus Dréimirí as gaeilge, am ‘DEAR’ as gaeilge, saor scríbhneoireacht as Gaeilge, ceardlann Portaireachta le Pauric Howley, ag foghlaim ‘Ionsaí na hInse’, comhrá Gaeilge lena chéile, dánta, rannta agus fiú ag cumadh rap as Gaeilge!
Seachtain na Gaeilge is an important week in Fanore celebrating our native language and the children took part in a range of activities including games such as bingo, snakes and ladders, word games and Simon says, DEAR time as Gaeilge, free writing as gaeilge, Irish conversations with each other, a lilting workshop with Pauric Howley, poems, rhymes and even composing a rap as Gaeilge!
Well done Violet on her bronze medal in the recent Féile na hInse art competition
Chun ceiliúradh a dhéanamh ar a gcuid foghlama ar an téama ‘Éadaí’ chuir na páistí sa Seomra Sóisearach ‘Seó Faisin’ ar siúl as gaeilge don scoil! Roghnaigh na páistí a gcuid éadaí agus mhínigh siad i nGaeilge cad a bhí orthu!
Children in the Junior Room celebrated all their learning on the theme of ‘clothes’ in Irish lessons by having a Fashion Show!
Beautiful artwork by Simon!
The school has taken part in the Féile na hInse art competition for the first time this year. The creations were themed for each class group with categories such as “Mo Chairde” and “Mo Chaitheamh Aimsire”
Chruthaigh páistí i rang a dó biachláir áille dá mbialanna féin mar chuid dá bhfoghlaim faoi bhia – bhain siad sult as iarraidh ar na páistí eile sa scoil a n-ord óna mbiachlár!
As part of their learning in Irish lessons, 2nd class created beautiful menus for their very own restaurants and enjoyed asking others in the school their orders as Gaeilge!
As part of Seachtain na Gaeilge the Children celebrated Lá Glas. Each child researched a topic of Irish culture and heritage they were interested in as well as a creative response of their choice. They then presented their projects to the school. We were blown away by the children’s interest and creativity. Projects included animals and plants of Ireland, Irish monuments, myths and legends, famous Irish people and aspects of Irish History. For their creative responses the children played music, created artwork, dioramas and Lego scenes, read as Gaeilge, brought in homemade soda bread and brown bread for the children to sample and more.
Ghlac na daltaí páirt i réimse leathan gníomhaíochtaí cosúil le Tráth na gCeist Kahoot, ceol, ealagus cluichí spraíúla le haghaidh Seachtain na Gaeilge. Bhí an-spórt acu agus bhain siad an-taitneamh as!
Chun deireadh a chur leis an téama ‘éadaí’ rinneamar Seó Faisin sa seomra. Bhain na páistí an-sult as!
