Very well done to our girls teams who competed in the Cumann na mBunscol blitz this week. Unfortunately they did not progress to the semi finals but they played three great games of football, emerging victorious in two!

The month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary. The Junior room have been learning about the Rosary as part of religion and 1st and 2nd class made their own rosary beads. Aren’t they beautiful!
The children in the senior room have been getting mathematical this week to celebrate Maths week 2024. They took part in an interactive mathe”magical” webinar where they learned some magic tricks to astonish and astound!
They have been competing with other schools daily in target board maths activities. They must work together to come up with different ways of reaching a specific answer using a set amount of numbers
The children have also been working with the junior room on puzzles which give them the opportunity to combine maths with chess.
The Junior room have played maths games, created a number hunt outside, conducted surveys on the school community on a wide variety of topics and created graphs of their results!
1st and 2nd class have been learning about fractions in maths and their task today was to prepare pizza for the children in the school using their knowledge of halves and quarters. A very tasty lesson!
To celebrate Space Week the junior and senior room participated in a range of activities. The Junior room enjoyed learning about the different planets in our solar system.
The senior room explored constellations of stars and made their shapes using concrete materials like geoboards.
