Wishing all our children a very happy and safe summer!
Big congratulations to the winner of our annual John Joe Scanlon Perpetual cup for her wonderful poem based on Fanore. The competition was stiff and it was very difficult to choose a winner from all the entries. We celebrated with ice-creams in the sunshine
The senior room had their school tour today and travelled to Derg Isle Adventure Centre in Scarriff for an action packed day where they tried out kayaking, obstacle course racing and zip lining. Great fun was had by all with a trip to McDonalds providing the icing on the cake!
Happy Fathers Day to all the “Super Dads” in our school community!
Our school sports day took place on Friday. The children took part in hurling, dance and basketball and then took to their teams for lots of fun activities. Well done to our joint winning teams – the black team and the yellow team! We finished the day with a barbeque. We also took the opportunity to officially open our wonderful new playground. Big thanks to all the parents for attending and for helping out on the day!
Well done to our girls amalgamation (Fanore/Ballyvaughan/New Quay) who took part in the finals of the Cumann na mBunscol girls football competition. Unfortunately, we were up against a stronger and bigger Holy Family team and so it wasn’t our day but the girls gave it their all, helped by the wonderful Fanore supporters who travelled to Cusack Park with them!
The 10th of June marked Cruinnú na nÓg, the national day of creativity for children. This year Fanore NS was part of a wonderful gathering of young musicians from around the county who got together to play some tunes, make new friends and have a bit of fun. All of our senior room children took part in the day led by our wonderful Miss Howley who arranged all of the pieces and even wrote and arranged an original piece, Gáir Chatha na Boirne. Have a look at the finished piece below

The Junior room headed off on their school tour on Thursday. We visited the Ennis Gymnastics Centre, the playground and McDonalds. A wonderful day was had by all.
The senior room boys were in action in hurling (Fanore/Boston/Tubber) and football (Fanore/ New Quay/Carron) in recent weeks. They came up against some very strong teams in both sports and while they played very well, they unfortunately did not progress in their competitions.
Well done to all our pupils who participated again this year in the Burren Marathon. A special congratulations to our Under 16 winner
Fantastic achievement!
