Our Crocks of Gold!

March 14th, 2014

Today, we made ” Crocks of Gold” for St Patrick’s Day.

The children made the rainbow using paint and their fingerprints!

Pancake Tuesday

Today, we got to make more batter and eat our very own pancakes!

They were simply delicious!!


Pancake Tuesday Preparation!!

In preparation for Pancake Tuesday, the children in the senior room made the pancake batter today.

This was done as Gaeilge!!

Tomorrow, we will make the pancakes and put our very own toppings on them!!

Our Readathon continues

February 26th, 2014

Each year, we hold a Readathon in our school.

Every child is asked to read as much as possible. Each child has a Readathon log and workbook.

As part of the Readathon this year, we created our very own display!

Children wrote about their favourite book on a “marshmallow”.


Exciting News!

As part of the Greenwave project we participate in, we keep our eyes peeled for signs of Spring.

Today there was great excitement when we found frogspawn in our small pond!

We will continue to watch the frogspawn over the next few weeks to see what happens!!

In preparation for St Brigid’s Day, we made crosses.

The junior children made their crosses from lollipop sticks.

The senior children made their crosses using using straws.

Chinese New Year~The Year of the Horse

On Friday 31th Jan, it is the Chinese New Year.

This week, we have spent time learning about the Chinese New Year and the Chinese Zodiac!

We found out that according to the Chinese Zodiac we are the following:



Spring is here!

On arrival at school on Monday morning, we were greeted by our first daffodil!

Hopefully over the next few days, more daffodils will blossom!

We also are keeping a close eye on our crocuses.
