The children have been engaging in lots of activities to celebrate Science Week.
The children in the senior room investigated the effects of different substsances on melting speed of ice.
They also joined in with the Curious Minds Science Week show
Very hard luck to our boys who were beaten by a strong Kilfenora-Kilshanny team in their final yesterday. They put up a super effort and will be back in Cusack Park again no doubt!

As part of science the children in the Junior Room were looking at materials and mixing. They made their own orange and green for their pumpkin and then designed their pumpkin’s face and surprise!
Children in the junior room enjoyed making chocolate lollipops as part of science… and enjoyed for our Halloween party!!
Visualisation has been our focus for comprehension in October. Take a look at some of our work based on the strategy.
The children looked at the lyrics of the song ‘Skeletons in the Closet’ by Louis Armstrong. This was linked to Jazz music which the children had be learning about in October also. In their reading partner groups they picked some lyrics and designed a picture using their visualisation skills.

Very well done to our girls teams who competed in the Cumann na mBunscol blitz this week. Unfortunately they did not progress to the semi finals but they played three great games of football, emerging victorious in two!
